I've been hanging out with my niece, Hayley, for the past couple of days. She's staying with me while I am home recovering from my hysterectomy. It baffles me how much these kids text! Every few minutes I hear something buzzing. She's pretty good, though. I'm not having any problems out of her. Today, we are waiting for dog houses to arrive.
The tracking information says that the FedEx truck left the station at 6:53am and has been in route ever since. I hope they arrive before the rain starts. Hayley has been such a great help around the house. We put 2 dog houses together yesterday, and expect to put 2 more dog houses together today.

We're going to have a doggy neighborhood. The second dog house only took 16 minutes to put together yesterday. (Yeah, we timed it.) They look so good a neighbor came over to see them. We're expecting rain so I hope they come soon so we can get them together!
Our next project:
build your own automatic plant watering system for next to nothingI have been having a problem with too much/not enough water. This seems to be an excellent solution for next to nothing. We will be using our empty Powerade bottles to make the watering system. No telling what else I will find while I am waiting for FedEx to bring the dog houses.
Update:
We got the dog houses in and put them together for a total of 4 dog houses (3 medium and 1 large). We put a total of 4 automatic plant watering systems together.

Hopefully these will prevent my Amelia tomatoes from splitting. I've lost a couple of tomatoes because the were splitting, which is mostly due to under/over watering. Here in Southeast Louisiana, we've been having days that are nearly 100 degrees (or more) with some showers in the evenings. It's not always possible to predict the rain, so I have been watering in the morning and evening. Too much sun/heat causes them to split, and too much water causes them to split. I am sick of throwing my tomatoes out! I am hoping that this will distribute the water more evenly and prevent splitting.
